In the second quarter of 2025, the performance of the top news and magazines applications on the Android platform in Egypt showed diverse trends. Here's a closer look at the top five apps based on data from Sensor Tower.

• X (Formerly Twitter): This app from X Corp. saw a varied trend in its weekly downloads. Starting from around 45K at the beginning of April, downloads decreased to approximately 30K by late May, before rising back to 34K at the end of June. Revenue showed fluctuations, starting at $879, peaking at around $1.5K by the end of June. Active users declined from 8.8M to 7.6M over the quarter.

• Al Mashhad: With no recorded revenue, Al Mashhad's downloads started at 3.7K, dropped to the hundreds mid-quarter, and then spiked to 8.2K in mid-June. Active users experienced a brief surge, peaking at 12.8K, before declining to 5.9K.

• Goallazo: This app had a unique pattern with downloads starting late in the quarter, peaking at 8K in late May, before dropping sharply.
